Borehole and solar system completed at Rulenge, Kagera region

A major milestone was achieved in the Rulenge project as the deep water well, pump house and solar-powered water distribution system were completed at Murugaragara, Ngara District.

Before the project the centre faced a severe shortage of clean and safe water, which brought activities requiring water to a standstill. A preliminary hydro-geological survey was carried out by YABIKOZE Investment of Mwanza Region to determine the source, followed by drilling, installation of the pump and solar system, construction of a pump house and the building of water distribution points.

Villagers from outside the mission area now fetch water from the new distribution stations.
