Enhancing learning opportunities and knowledge transfer
Education
Education is the key to sustainable development. Progress depends on improved access and quality, as education empowers individuals to realise their potential, increase earning capacity and actively contribute to the transformation of society.
CMSR-TZ recognises that education is the backbone of sustainable development. Our interventions aim to expand access, improve quality and ensure that knowledge is effectively transferred to empower communities, within and beyond Dodoma Region.
Our interventions
- School infrastructure — construction of primary and secondary school buildings and teachers' houses, such as Chikopelo Bwawani primary school buildings, Don Calo's Secondary School in Bahi District and St Kizito Primary School in Mpanda District, Katavi Region.
- Support for vulnerable children — payment of school fees for children from poor families who cannot afford education costs, through the long-running Shule Programme.
- Energy-saving initiatives — installation of wood-saving stoves at primary school level to promote environmental sustainability.
- Sanitation and hygiene — construction of improved pit latrines in schools to enhance health and learning environments.
Why this matters
Through these interventions CMSR-Tanzania strengthens access to education, supports equity for disadvantaged children and promotes sustainable learning environments, ensuring that knowledge continues to support community transformation and long-term development.
