A joint monitoring team visited Kisese and Kiteo secondary schools to review the improved WASH facilities and meet students and teachers.
From 29 September to 3 October 2025 a joint monitoring exercise by the Tanzanian and Italian teams visited two of the fourteen secondary schools in the PMHM project — Kisese and Kiteo.
The team met students and teachers and inspected the improved WASH facilities: renovated changing rooms fitted with metal doors, water supply laid from the sources, 3,000-litre storage tanks on new risers, and hand-wash platforms with four taps at each school.
Over the life of the project, 7,200 washable sanitary pads were distributed to 1,800 girls, 120 teachers were trained on sexual reproductive health and menstrual health and hygiene, and health clubs of 12 trained peer educators were established in every school.
